How to get there:
Road entry to Masai Mara is through Narok town, a 3 hours drive from Nairobi. You may favor to fly to the Mara, which is served by 4 man airstrips. Daily regular flights from Nairobi and Mombasa are on hand. Private Charters also use these airstrips. Accessing the Mara area is difficult without own transport.
Masai Mara Safari:
Most travellers visit Masai Mara as part of a safari package from Nairobi or in a rental car. The reserve has well established internal roads and tracks. Accessing areas outside the reserve is only easy using general public transport, and finding the right path around can be complicated.
