How to really enjoy romantic Sydney for free? Easy. As an example, strung along the length of the Sydney Coastal Walk are the beautiful gleaming beaches of Coogee, Clovelly, Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi. You can have a great time paddling in the blue waters, building castles on the snow white sand beaches, or just gawking at the million-dollar sea-side houses on the cliffs in Bronte and Tamarama. For an undisturbed romantic interlude, you can enjoy the five very different beaches on a leisurely two-hour stroll. A romantic coastal walk with your partner, will be an experience to appreciate.
The best time to visit Sydney is throughout the year. Spring, which is from September to November is great for exploring the city's sights. Summer, from December to February, is when you want to savor the beaches. The autumn, which is from March to May, presents warm days and cool nights. It is chiller in the winter, from June to August but it is still a cosy 14-16 deg C in the daytime. The night temperature can drop to below 10 and is perfect for cuddling up in bed.
The popular Bondi is packed and well commercialised. The Bronte Beach is ideal for families with a fun playground, charming beachfront homes and a mini-train ride. Avoid this place if you do not want to mingle with the families and children. Clovelly is very cosy. There is a free-for-use swimming pool next to the beach for the less daring.
October and November is the best time to do the romantic coastal walk. That is when artists set up their astounding sculptures along the coast for the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition - they make for some very amazing sights.

Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens are great places for romantic picnic. They are a repository of delightful nooks and crannies where you can easily laze away the day. Located right at the heart of the city, the gardens are arranged in the shape of a giant letter U, with the Opera House occupying one end and Mrs Macquarie's Chair at the other end. A beautiful body of water fills up the U. Anywhere here is a great place for a romantic picnic. The ground is dry and free of creepy crawlies. The best place is at Mrs Macquarie's Chair, named after a stone seat where the wife of Major-General Lachlan Macquarie, New South Wales governor from 1810 to 1821, liked to sit and gaze at the sea. With its ambling green lawns, the gigantic trees providing ample shades and an extremely good view of the blue harbour, this spot is a great for photgraphy as well. The Royal Botanic Gardens are also where you can get the best views of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
