I never thought I would be able to quit my smoking habit. Otherwise what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to keeping my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking addiction makes the decision to continue one you cant really justify in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you relish.

After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted everyday to see my reasons for changing my behavior this helped considerably since quitting smoking is a decision one has to renew everyday. After you stop smoking you have to presume there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I slipped and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.

The instant I saw the scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to rearrange eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with something I usually would not do for myself. Any time I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I can't say that I do not think about smoking from time to time and more than likely always will but I always remind myself that what you save is both money and health. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can taste the food you eat. You can also put the hard cash you would have used for buying cigarettes into a bank account and watch it add up.
